“Three old ladies named Gertrude, Maude, and Tilly were sitting on a
park bench having a quiet conversation when a flasher approached from
across the park. The flasher came up to the ladies, stood right in
front of them and opened his trench coat and flashed them.
Gertrude immediately had a stroke.
Then Maude also had a stroke.
But,Tilly, being older and feebler, couldn’t reach that far.”
Yeah, you’re supposed to laugh now…
Anyway, sorry for the week’s silence – it was Show Day, nobody blogs on Show Day! In this country it’s traditional once a year to give everyone one day off to look at monster trucks and piglets, eat too much strawberry icecream and puke on the Thundertron 3000… Australia really is the lucky country! (If you’re from overseas and have no idea what I’m talking about, we call it The Ekka – it’s kind of a sad tiny state fair. There are flickr pictures from people who aren’t me here…)
So this week…
1) Serious one – but still fun – it’s The World Clock. Not only does this baby tell you the time, you also get the stats and growth figures on everything from internet access points and US divorces to bicycles produced and drowning deaths. Useful, pretty and terribly, terribly depressing – take a look!
2) Loving inappropriate governmental misuse of modern technology, if you haven’t already heard it (you under-rock-liver you!) take a look at one of lots of news stories this week about the CIA secretly editing Wikipedia pages… quick, Howard government, redirect Kevin Rudd’s wikipedia entry to Hooters, now! What? What do you mean it already goes there…? (Apologies overseas-ians, you probably won’t get that one either…)
3) Finally, we haven’t had much YouTube-ness lately have we…? Here’s a piece from MadTV where “Steve Jobs” launches the “new Apple product”, the iRack… witty political commentary abounds! Even Australians get this one!
